About
Uncomfortable.NYC is a line of premium basics made in New York by a New Yorker. It represents the values I regard highly in Fashion.
It is about a celebration of the city. New York is straightforward and cunning. A city that welcomes everyone and tempers anyone willing to embrace it. This city has sufficient resources of high quality, fair wage factories. I strive to use these as opposed to outsourcing production which can mean cheaper garments but it can also mean sacrificing quality and relying on unfair cheap labor.
It is about the color black. Sophisticated, sexy, and confident. Whether it's adopting it from head to toe or as indispensable items to anchor a great outfit, black garments are quintessential. They stand above fleeting trends and become timeless key pieces in what should ultimately be an edited wardrobe: the idea of a minimal approach to dressing where less is truly more.
It is about making beautiful garments. Simple and elegant. Of superior materials. Attentively selecting fabrics and trim for each garment without compromising the brand's standards for the sake of lowering cost.
Uncomfortable.NYC is about welcoming uncomfortableness as a state of mind. If we're too comfortable with the current situation then there is no room for growth.
